| | | Daniel Gordon: "At The Moment It Works Out Great" | | | | [15.05.] In football things can happen quickly. Daniel Gordon can tell you a thing or two about it. About one and a half months ago only experts of the Regionalliga would have known the the 22 year-old´s name, however, his popularity has grown at least since the end of Derby. After Gordon only registered short appearances in Berlin and against Frankfurt, he played nearly half an hour in the recent matches against Wolfsburg and Schalke. Despite his new popularity the 22-year old stays completely calm: "I try to shut out everything that is coming from outside and only deal with the team." | | | Daniel Gordon, on Saturday you played your fourth match for Borussia Dortmund. The team has won each match. You are a lucky charm personified...
Gordon: "I would not say that way. However, it is true that things are working out at the moment for me. It is even better that I always get come in with the lead and that the coach counts on me."
 | | Daniel Gordon: 22 years old, 4 Bundesliga appearances. | You were playing for the Regionalliga team and are now in the spotlight of the 1st Bundesliga. You had a longer appearance on Saturday against FC Schalke. How do you handle your new popularity?
Gordon: "I am keeping calm and concentrating on every match. I try to shut out everything that is coming from outside and only deal with the team. That works well."
It was still touch and go when you were brought into the match against Schalke. Schalke was pushing for the equalizer. How did was "your" half hour experience?
Gordon: "First, I was supposed to help stabilize the defense because Schalke turned up the pressure a bit in the second half. But, they did not create any clear goal chances. That is why it was important for us to be safe in defense and wait for counter-attacks. After we scored the second goal, that worked out."
How was your personal experience in recent weeks? After the "Bielefeld-crisis" you were promoted to the professional team. You trained with them and showed what you can do. Obviously successful. A dream promotion?
Gordon: "Actually you could describe it that way. At the moment it works out great. I will keep trying to improve myself to eventually play even more."
When do you sign your professional contract?
Gordon (smiles): "Soon."
